The Bible talks about Jesus as “a light shining in the darkness” (John 1:5).

Light helps us to see things more clearly.

Sometimes there is darkness in our lives … illness, grief, a loss of hope ...

and the light of Jesus can help us to see through and beyond that darkness.

So … come and see!

Worship Services at 9:30 am & 11:00 am on Sunday mornings.

Building Project - Our Heritage, Our Turn, God's Tomorrow

On Tuesday, April 3, Hillsdale First UMC will begin the construction process for our project to install an elevator, relocate restrooms, and update and renovate the heating system.

We will still have worship services at 9:30 & 11:00 am each Sunday. However, this will affect the use of the building and areas of the church that are accessible during construction. For more information, please click here.

175 Years - forward in christ, in ministry, in community

This year marks the church’s 175th anniversary in ministry as a congregation in Hillsdale, and 178 years of shared Christian ministry among all Hillsdale area churches. Special activities and missions have been ongoing throughout the year, including a celebration on World Communion Sunday with local churches and Bishop David Bard of the Michigan Area United Methodist Church. Find out more about this event here.

If you have special memories or photos of church activities or events that you have collected over the years and would like to share, please contact the office. We are compiling a cookbook and hope to create a keepsake publication for distribution at year end.

Worship Services on Sundays at 9:30 am & 11:00 am.

We are growing in love of God and neighbor, making disciples of Jesus Christ, and serving others.
