At Hillsdale First UMC, 

we are growing in love of God and neighbor, making disciples of Jesus Christ, and serving others.

 

Everything we do, we do in the name of Christ.


OUR MISSIONS


  • FREE BREAKFAST AND WORSHIP

    EVERY THIRD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH, 11:00 AM

    A full breakfast is served at 11:00, with a time of singing with the praise band, a skit or video, and a reflection on the message. The Agape Cart, which has personal care items available to anyone, opens after the worship service is over.

  • LOAVES & FISHES DAY, annually in august

    We distribute socks (men's, women's, children's) to the community at the annual Loaves & Fishes outreach event at the Fairgrounds coordinated by the Hillsdale Ministerial Association.


    Church members donate new packages of socks throughout the weeks ahead of Loaves & Fishes, and members and volunteers man our table at the Fairgrounds distributing free pairs of socks to anyone who needs them. 


    At the recent event in 2026, our church distributed 1,452 pairs of socks to our community neighbors.

  • LOCAL OUTREACH

    We partner in our local community with other churches and nonprofits to serve our neighbors. Through our donations of gifts and/or time, we currently partner with:


    LOCAL

    * Love INC (in the name of Christ) 

    * 9 local food banks/pantries

    * Share the Warmth of Hillsdale County

    * Helping Hands

    * Camp Michindoh (scholarships for campers)

  • WORLDWIDE OUTREACH

    We partner in the national and international community with our support of programs that focus on education, health, and food sustainability. Through our donations of gifts and/or time, we currently partner with:


    NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL

    * Church World Service Blankets+ (National and International Disaster Response)

    * Henderson Settlement, Frakes, KY (serving Appalachian communities)

    * Heifer International, Little Rock, AR (work with communities to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth)

    * Water for Life, Liberia (providing clean, safe drinking water and facilities to prevent water-borne diseases)

    * Grace Outside (United Methodist Camping Ministries)
