making disciples of Jesus Christ, and serving others.

joyful noise!  MUSIC CAMP RETURNS July 14-17

We are pleased to announce that our Joyful Noise! Music Camp is returning this summer!

The free, four-day event will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 17 and will include lunch.

The Joyful Noise! staff, led by Director of Music, Calista Brunett, includes several trained musicians and teachers who have a passion for helping children grow in the Christian faith. The camp will have a vocal music emphasis, culminating in a choir performance at the end of the week, but students will also enjoy playing and learning about instruments and engaging in a variety of fun, music-related activities. The vocal music will be based on Biblical themes, and the whole camp experience aims to share and celebrate God’s love and creativity.

There is NO COST for this special event, but registration (due Monday June 30) is required in order for us to adequately prepare.

Download and print a REGISTRATION FORM or fill out and submit our ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM. Please also view our MEDIA RELEASE POLICY and fill out and submit an OPT-OUT FORM if you do not wish your child to be photographed or recorded during Joyful Noise! Music Camp.

PAST EVENTS

  • CHRISTMAS CONCERT

On Saturday, December 7 at 4:00 pm, the Hillsdale First United Methodist Church presented its 2024 Community Christmas Concert.

This Musical Celebration of Christmas featured the choral cantata “By Heaven’s Light” written by Tom Long and composer Allen Pote. The Hillsdale First UMC Chancel Choir, with guest vocalists and instrumentalists, performed under the direction of Calista Brunett, Director of Music. Musical pieces were accompanied by dramatic narrations that retold the story of Christ’s birth.

The concert was part of our 2024 Community Concert Series Sharing the Gift of Music in the Name of Christ.

  • ORGAN RECITAL

Our Director of Music, Calista Brunett, presented an Organ Recital on October 27 with a varied repertoire including pieces by Mendelssohn, Bach, and others. She was joined by Nicholas Nestorak, tenor, who returned to Hillsdale after a successful performance schedule that included his Metropolitan Opera debut earlier this year.

The recital was part of our 2024 Community Concert Series Sharing the Gift of Music in the Name of Christ.

  • LENTEN STUDY SERIES

During Lent we share a Lenten Supper and Study with our neighbors at First Presbyterian Church.
